Well as promised a little synopsis of the things I have been working on.
I am almost finished with my Sorbet Colinette Ab Fab Throw. Just need to add the fringe and it will be finito! I plan on taking it with me to my surgery next week. So I better get cracking.
Then there is the last panel to knit for my changed up version of Lame from the last R2 book that I got in England since no one in America will order the book or the yarns. It amused me how all of the stores in London were suprised that a) yarn is less expensive there than here (Rowan is like $5 versus $15 there) and b) that Americans generally don't like R2. I can't wait to felt it and wear it with some biker boots. Now to decide what colour satin ribbons to interlace in the holes???
Then there is the Bubble bag. This is going to be a belated birthday present for Miss Share. She has already had a sneak peek so I can put up here now. Still have to redo the star and get cracking on the strap, lips and heart and then I am going to try and felt it. Yes I am a felting virgin.
Then my main WIP that I wish I could finish by next Wednesday is my version of the London Calling sweater from SNB. I might have to have my mother in law send me some more black mohair to finish the sleeves. I had to of course frog it from the earlier pictures but this time I have gotten much farther along.
A load of baby hats made. To ease it all I just kept making the Umblical Cord hat from SNB. Most of these were for people at work. Hoping maybe I can get an order for one or two.
Then of course thereis Eunice the Uterus from Knitty. I had to rename her. I am keeping this one for myself to take with me to my surgery so I can have the doc show me what parts he zapped and then embroider her i.e. tatt her up. I need to make a few more for some friends and then of course for Wombs Over Washington. Paul likes to say that it looks like a bull.
I am sure there is more that I have made in the last two months but I can't think right now.
Oh we just had an earthquake here too. Everyone was very proud of me for not freaking out since I have a huge fear of them. But luckily I am used to the floor under my desk shaking since that's just part of the makeup of the office. But this time it shook a little harder and a lot longer. It turns out it was a 3.4 tremor off the coast of Santa Monica which is about 3 miles from where I work. This is a great site if you ever need to find up to the moment stats on quakes.
And if you are interested in a sneak peek at the Spring/Summer 2005 issue of Vogue Knitting click here. Some rather interesting looking items I think.
